After being informed I was going to lose my teaching job of 8 years, I had about 90 days to get a full-time business up and running as a single mom. I hired a business coach and did it…while teaching full time and solo parenting.
I’m a single mom (and always have been) of my 4-year-old daughter. I have a very supportive family and my parents usually take my daughter for a weekend every couple months. But otherwise, it’s just me, the kiddo, and our dog. I love our little family!
To stay true to MYSELF and my vision for my business. Anytime I do something in my business because someone else said I should, it fails. (You’d think I’d learn to stop doing that…haha!)
Motherhood is the reason for my business at all! If it weren’t for wanting to be home with my daughter as much as possible, I would have just gotten another regular job. Motherhood also forces me to be super productive when I have the time to work and to truly unplug when it’s family and play time.
Find a solid support network. Business coach, biz besties in your niche, biz besties in a different industry entirely, and just people that are cheerleaders (not Eeyores) for you and your business.
Trust yourself and listen to your baby.
